Sex offenders are not who you might think.
Although public images of sex offenders typically revolve around so-called "stranger danger," the vast majority of child sexual abuse cases involve family members or close acquaintances.
"It's not the old pervert in the bushes jumping out," said Nancy Graffin, clinician supervisor at New Jersey's Adult Diagnostic and Treatment Center in Woodbridge, a prison for about 700 sex offenders. "It's your neighbor."
