Anne Lee Named Finalist in "Volvo for Life" Contest
Anne Lee, President and CEO of Darkness to Light, has been named a finalist in Volvo's annual "Volvo for Life" competition.
Each year, Volvo accepts nominations for "heroes", those individuals who have made a difference in the lives of others. Brad Davis of Volvo of Charleston nominated Anne for the award last fall. He was notified in December that she was a finalist.
Visit www.volvoforlifeawards.com and click on "Heroes". A list of finalists will appear. Click on "Anne Lee" to read Brad's essay nominating her.
Judges for the competition include baseball legend Hank Aaron, Senator Bill Bradley, Carolyn Kennedy, Paul Newman, artist/architect Maya Lin, and astronaut Dr. Sally Ride. Each of the judges is a former Volvo for Life Hero.
We're very excited about Anne's nomination and her finalist status. The winner will be announced on April 6. There will be three Winners' Awards, one in each category of Safety, Quality of Life, and Environment. From those three, a Grand Award will be given. The Grand Award winner will indeed receive a Volvo for life.
Congratulations to Anne, and many many thanks to Brad Davis. Volvo of Charleston has been a staunch supporter of Darkness to Light, and we appreciate their continued friendship.
Visit the website, read Anne's story, and keep your fingers crossed!
